How Much eSIM Data for 21 Days?
Choose your usage pattern, then add a buffer for unusually heavy travel days.
| Usage profile | Daily assumption | 21-day base need | With 20% buffer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light Maps, messaging, email and light browsing. | 0.25 GB/day | 5.3 GB | 6.3 GB |
| Moderate Navigation, social media, browsing and some short video. | 0.75 GB/day | 15.8 GB | 18.9 GB |
| Heavy Frequent social/video use plus hotspot or uploads. | 1.5 GB/day | 31.5 GB | 37.8 GB |
| Remote work Hotspot use, video calls, cloud files and heavier streaming. | 3 GB/day | 63.0 GB | 75.6 GB |
What package size usually fits?
A light 21-day trip can often fit a small fixed-data package if Wi-Fi carries streaming and updates. Moderate use needs more room for navigation, social media and occasional video. Heavy or remote-work travel can move into 10 GB, 20 GB, 50 GB or unlimited territory quickly.
Do not count only the average day
Travel creates spikes: airport delays, ride-hailing, navigation, cloud photo uploads, tethering and long train rides can all raise usage. A buffer is more useful than buying the exact arithmetic minimum.
How to reduce mobile data
Download offline maps and entertainment on Wi-Fi, disable automatic app updates and cellular cloud-photo backup, lower streaming quality, and check which SIM is selected for mobile data before departure.
